about

Finished this album after I returned from taking my first trip to Los Angeles back in July 2019. All tracks were made before this trip with the exception of "Hayyy Bighead".

It was my childhood dream to make it to Los Angeles and in July 2019 and it finally happened. The trials to get there started in January though.

Back in January of 2019 I told myself that I was hitting LA this year; it had to happen. I messaged a few homies about doing shows out there around May and eventually, the homie Wavy Bagels led me to K. Solar. KS and I clicked immediately and he told me about a few shows he had going on at the time. He'd even let me kick it at his crib. I didn't care which show it was, I just wanted to go to LA, be heard and live out my dream.

I was working a subpar retail job that was doing enough for me to save a little from each check and pay bills; dassit. "Just gettin by"

Tax season rolls around and I do my taxes accordingly, yet 2 months later, the IRS tells me I'm missing a document and can't give me my money. I was frustrated but I knew I had to mail them the documents and I did.

Months go by and brick walls come up and in May, my family and I were forced out of our apartment and had to go live in an extended stay/hotel. During this time, all I can do is create, help, work and pay bills.

I hit up K. Solar, and let him know that May wasn't gonna work. We'd have to push back to July or so. Luckily, he says that's better for him as well because it's more going on out there in July.

Fortunately, we didn't move to Montgomery with much, so we packed up our Honda Accord three times and moved into the hotel room with what we had.

We end up paying around $1200/month to live there and with retail jobs, it was a stretch to say the least. In fact, I had to spend all my money I was saving up to go to LA just to keep us from being homeless.

Times got hella rough in mid June as we're struggling to pay the hotel, keep our phones on and have food to eat. Mind you, I haven't even booked my plane ticket yet. Everyday I was frustrated and distraught but, I made sure I went to work and made music to occupy my time and we stayed afloat.

Late June rolls up and we're in Walmart. Getting a few snacks and I check my bank app on my phone, and my tax return is there. FINALLY. I was so elated and in disbelief. I bought a fresh pack of white tees, underwear and socks and drove back to the hotel.

The following day, I immediately booked my flight and cried tears of joy.
Man... God showed up and came through.

I messaged K. Solar on IG and let him know that the trip is a go and he put me on the flyer for the event a few days later.

A week before my flight, on my way home from work, my alternator goes out lol. I was a quarter mile from the hotel and the car shuts off. After an hour, I just start laughing and said "Of course this happens a week before my LA trip. This is about to be the greatest trip ever lol"

After nearly 3 hours tow truck man shows up and hauls the car. We went to the shop, figured out how to get the alternator and went from there.

The last track, "Alright" was made 8 hours before my flight and quickly recorded into my SP-404 so that I could play it in LA.

Drove to Atlanta, boarded my flight and made my way to LA. KS picked me up from the airport and upon the first 10 minutes of cruising to the crib, everything felt.. Familiar. I felt at home and hungry to go hard. Every time a looked around, I was amazed that I made it to LA and even though it was foreign to me, I felt at peace and familiar with my surroundings; nothing felt off or strange.

Los Angeles changed me for the better and I will be back plenty more times

Preciate yall!
(Especially if you read all of this)
Enjoy the album!
